Dr. Bharti Malhotra is currently work as Senior Professor, Microbiology and is also the Additional Principal at SMS Medical College. She is the Nodal Officer DHR State Virus Research & diagnostic Lab, Nodal officer of labs under various national programs like NVHCP, NTEP, regional coordinator NOHPCZ (under NCDC), and regional reference lab of meningitis (under ICMR), Influenza lab (under ICMR).
She has also worked on prestigious posts like as Dean Medicine and Pro Vice Chancellor in Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) and treasurer National- IAMM, president state IAMM. She has many firsts to her credit like - 1st to start Molecular diagnosis lab in Rajasthan State, MDRTB, XDRTB diagnosis at state referral lab RNTCP, 1st to detect Zika in Rajasthan State and investigate 1st outbreak in country and 1st to start COVID testing in state etc. She was also awarded state award for meritorious services, award from private practitioner’s society for excellence research. award from Rajasthan Medical council for excellence in Microbiology and got the best published paper award by Faroqh Abdullah. She has published more than 110 publications in National and international journals and 3 chapters in books.
She has worked on various projects like Study on impact of pneumococcal vaccine, Pan India surveillance of Influenza & SARS COV2, Reinfection of SARS COV2 in health care workers, Cohorts for zika epidemiology in India, Acute viral Hepatitis surveillance by NCDC etc.
